
We visited Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum at Ueno Parkm where "The Marmottan Monet Museum Exhibition Japan 2004" is hold. We enjoyed looking at the paintings of Claude Monet and those of other Impressionists, like Berthe Morisot.
We participated a seminar and enjoyed Bunraku puppet show today.
A Japanese puppet show, "Bunraku" is with more than 300 years of tradition. "Bunraku" is currently named to the UNESCO list of world heritage.
An instructor of the seminar was Mr. Takagi, who is a well-known guide with so-called "ear-phone guide".
He becomes famous currently as he makes a comment on NHK TV provram about traditional culture. He takes a part of Bunraku, i.e. he is expert of Bunraku guide.

Cont./...Today, I am looking for to see "Sannin Kichisa Tomoe no Shiranami" at evening show.

We went to see matinee opera("Narukami" and "Shunkan") at New National Theatre, Tokyo.
Danjuro(Ichikawa), one of the major Kabuki acotor, does a production of an opera for the first time.
New Year Kabuki had really fine cast. We could enjoy exciting plays with several box-office stars.
Cont./...We went to see Kabuki in Asakusa today.

Finally(!!), we went to movie "Finding Nemo" at Marunouchi Piccadilly 2(movie theater).

Cont./...The year of 2003 was the 400th year for Kabuki since it was introduced. The last plays at Kabiki-za were ended both Matinee and night show with new works.
Cont./...Today's Kabuki play at National Theater of Japan was related to the Yagyu clan, masters of the Shinkage school of fighting. The Yagyu clain is famous to be served as insturctors to the Tokugawa shoguns.
Cont./...My husband booked tickets for New Year Kabuki in Asakusa. New Year Kabuki in Asakusa becomes popular due to its main casts.
